Repercussions Radio May 2012 Edition Jay Hamilton & Deko-Ze
May 18, 2012 03:19 AM PDT
WE ARE BACK, for yet another banging mix of tough beats courtesy of myself and my special guest Deko-Ze for the month of May!
As usual I'm kicking this off big with a new one from 3 of my favourite tech house producers of the moment: David Amo, Julio Navas and Oli Giacomotto. The track is called Get Together. I've also got tracks by Adrian Butabi, Miguel Bastida, George Privatti, Jose Ponce, my boy Zoltan Kontes, who is just just unstoppable lately it seems, and many more.
Check the full tracklist at facebook.com/djjayhamilton and if you like this mix please leave me a comment! If you want to have mixes downloaded to your iPod automatically every month just search Jay Hamilton – Repercussions Radio on iTunes and you can follow there as well.
When I started partying and djing back in the early 90’s in Canada’s Midwest EDM scene there were a few local DJ’s that I really looked up to as we all do when we are first starting out. For me these people were Dr. J, Jeff Galaxy and my May guest DJ Michael Deko-Ze Babb.
To say Deko-ze an inspiration to me is really quite the understatement. I literally have Deko-ze mixes and anthems forever etched into my memory from the many times he’s ripped me to shreds.
His innate ability to take a crowd in any state and mold them into his reality is tantamount to the fact that he is a true professional.
Although he’s known primarily for tribal he always comes prepared to play anything: funky house, progressive, techno, or even speed garage and although he has such a wide range, he somehow magically gives everything that special Deko-ze sound without pre-planning his sets, frequently riding 3 decks to drop loops and acapellas of classic anthems, educating his crowd while taking them back in time.
Some say Deko-ze the hardest working Canadian DJ and I believe it. He’s one of the few I know that can juggle 5 or 6 gigs in a week in different cities, but you would never know it from watching him play.
The energy this man exudes behind the decks is astounding! If you have seen him play you know what I’m talking about, if you haven’t, get your shit together!
Repercussions Radio April 2012 Edition Jay Hamilton & Robb G
April 12, 2012 05:34 AM PDT
Alright crew we're back in the cut for the April edition of Repercussions Radio! Big huge thanks to my guests last month the B-Team from Toronto who laid down a banging set last weekend when they opened for Sonny Fodera at Footwork.
We're getting out the door a little late this month mainly due to the fact that I'm leaving for Coachella in roughly 8 hours, but I wanted to give you guys your monthly fix before I take off and do terrible things to myself at what will likely be the most retarded party I've ever had the pleasure of attending.
This month I'm giving you lots of chuggin house because I like house and I know you like house so hey, why not some big chugging house? Right... that's what I thought. Dig in y'all and stay tuned for my very special guest later in the show!
As always you can find me on Facebook at facebook.com/djjayhamilton, soundcloud.com/jayhamilton and jayhamilton/podomatic.com
Big ups to the artists featured in the mix this month. Please visit my Facebook fanpage at facebook.com/djjayhamilton for the full tracklist and if you like what you heard, do these guys a solid and go buy their music. They work extremely hard and I know they will appreciate it.
If you are interested in booking me to play I live in Toronto and I'm reasonable. Email me at: email@example.com
Now if you have partied in Canada anywhere within the last 10 or so years you will know my April Repercussions guest DJ. This man is truly an icon of our very proud Canadian EDM scene and even better, he is just a really really nice guy. I'm speaking of course of my good friend Mr. Robb G.
Robb is known and loved everywhere he plays for his massive stage presence and high energy mix of house/electro and techno. It's easy to tell when you watch him lay down that he is truly into his music and isn't afraid to show it.
In addition to being a top shelf DJ, Robb has had releases and remixes on over a dozen labels in the last decade. Remixing DJ Dan, MC Flipside, Will Bailey, Hatiras and many more along the way.
His most recent release Jack It Up on Hatrax is a massive tweaked out electro bomber with a duchy vibe that's featured in this mix. To stay up to date on future releases and everything Robb G related, visit his fanpage, facebook.com/robbgoffical or visit him on soundloud at soundcloud.com/robbg.
Enough chit chat, welcome to the world of Mr Robb G.
Jay Hamilton & B-Team Repercussions Radio March 2012

What’s up underground massive and welcome back to Repercussions Radio!
February was a busy month, but I managed to compile a solid set ranging from disco house to tech house and back again, including tracks by one of my favourite Canadian producers of the moment, Jerome Robins, as well as Prock & Fitch, Danny Leblack, another amazing Canadian beatsmith Matteo DiMarr, the man with a midas touch Jay Lumen, NYC house maven Peter Bailey and a brand new disco tech house monster from the mighty D.Ramirez. The full tracklist for this set is available on my facebook fanpage: facebook.com/djjayhamilton
My March guests The B-Team are two good friends of mine JLR and Mitch Rising, who I’ve played and produced music with since I moved to Toronto. These guys are a lot of fun to listen to because they really try to meld new school tech house flavours with the old school vibes of more classic house music. The pair have played at clubs and parties alongside such DJs and artists as Deadmau5, JFK, John Acquaviva, Hatiras, DJ Dan, Jojo Flores, Wynter Gordon, The Angry Kids, Robb G, Dekoze, Manzone & Strong and Jelo as well as performing at the 2011 BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
The past 6 months has seen the pair play regular gigs at Toronto's infamous Footwork alongside many top locals such as Addy, The Junkies, Dekoze, Robb G, Chris Ink and headliners DJ Dan and Jelo. Upcoming notable B-Team gigs include the 2 year party for Robb G's "Get Slayed" at Andy Poolhall on March 17 and a massive jam by the Bounce crew featuring Sonny Fodera at Footwork on April 7th. If you’re in the area come check them out. Also be sure to visit them on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/bteamofficial and their website: http://www.pittyfoolrecords.com

Jay Hamilton & JELO - Repercussions Radio February 2012 Mix
February 03, 2012 02:58 PM PST
Welcome back to Repercussions Radio!
Since I launched the Repercussions Radio Podcast in January I’ve had nothing but great feedback on the music and the concept for this show… which is essentially to provide an outlet for me to melt your faces on a monthly basis but also to showcase some of Canada’s best underground house DJ’s that I’ve been very fortunate to meet and share the decks with over the years.
I will ALSO be focusing on Canadian music so if you are a producer and want to hear your music on the show please send me an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
These mixes are free to download but please support the artists by buying their music on beatport.com, stompy.com, juno.co.uk etc. The tracklist for this set is available on my facebook fanpage: facebook.com/djjayhamilton
I do this because I love the music and I want to share it with you… All I ask is that you share it with others. If you dig the sound, spread the love! ♥
My first guest on the show got his start in Montreal where he grew up but rose to rockstar DJ status in Toronto in the late 90’s and early 2000’s while knocking out literally thousands of gigs at some of the biggest festivals, parties and warehouse raves back in the day.
Since then he has been a fixture from coast to coast on the Canadian circuit and more recently has become a veritable globetrotter, frequently playing gigs all through the US including LA, New York, Denver, Burning Man Festival in Nevada, Ultra Music Festival in Miami and he’s also headlined in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Phuket and Belgium.
As a DJ he is a true dancefloor shredder known for his tough uncompromising sound and super high energy stage presence while performing.
As a producer, he’s been turning out tracks and remixes since 2001 under labels such as Promo, 2Wars, IHR, Bugeyed, Hatrax, LOT49, Toolroom, Hotbox Digital, Cr2, Audio Planet, working with some of the biggest names in electronic music, Deadmau5, Hatiras, Donald Glaude, Adam K, MC Flipside, Calvertron and recently has been working with an up n coming west coast Canadian producer, King Kornelius on some massive massive electro bombs...
I am really excited to have this DJ lay it down for you guys…
